IUPUI Cares!
We had close to 330 volunteers participate in over 18 projects at White River State Park and with Habitat for Humanity last Friday. This was our first year having the majority of participants at one site and it was great to see so many people working together and making a HUGE impact on our surrounding community. Thank you for your hard work and dedication to service. Together we worked to beautify our local community providing a total of 825 hours of service to the White River State Park and Habitat for Humanity.
More information about IUPUI Day of Caring:
October 2nd 9am-12pm
(Note: Registration begins at 8:30am in CE 450)
IUPUI's United Way Day of Caring is an annual campus tradition. During the Day of Caring, teams of IUPUI students, faculty, staff and guests volunteer at non-profits across greater Indianapolis. In 2006, we moved the IUPUI Day of Caring to a Friday to better accommodate faculty and staff team involvement. Please consider putting together a team of your co-workers, colleagues or classmates and spend a Friday volunteering.
Note: All IUPUI employees must receive permission from their supervisor to participate if the volunteer opportunity is during normal work hours.
All participants will be volunteering this year with Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, painting murals, gardening and aiding in a large clean-up.
Day of Caring serves as the kick-off to the IUPUI United Way campaign!
