Alpha Phi Omega Co-ed Service Fraternity was founded December 16th, 1925 at Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania. Alpha Phi Omega is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. The purpose of this fraternity is to assemble college students in a national service fraternity in the fellowship of principles derived from the Scout Oath and Law of the Boy Scouts of America; to develop leadership, to promote friendship and to provide service to humanity; and to further freedom that is our national, educational and intellectual heritage.

Alpha Phi Omega is the single most representative undergraduate intercollegiate organization in the United States of America. We take pride in this and want to be even larger. We determine to be larger only because, if what we are and what we represent are important and useful to students, then we should share what we have in order to further our common goals more effectively. We want to share with colleges and universities all across this great land the benefits that Alpha Phi Omega gives to students, their campuses and their communities.

Service is a big part of what our chapter at IUPUI does. We sponsor campus blood drives, help beautify local parks, volunteer regularly at the Wheeler Mission, and work with the kids at the Dayspring Center. For a small chapter, we do quite a bit. We are "regulars" at many places that constantly need volunteers, and are always finding new places that need our help. If you are looking for community service opportunities, you've definitely come to the right place.

Best Buddies is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of people with intellectual disabilities (formerly known as mental retardation) by providing opportunities for one-to-one friendships and integrated employment. The club will work with Best Buddies Indiana (office in Indianapolis) and will pair students with residents of Indianapolis, many of whom are residents of group homes.
If the participant is involved in a one-to-one match, the person is required to contact their buddy (via email, phone, letter) once a week and meet with him/her twice a month. These meetings can be the scheduled club events (holiday parties, sporting events, picnics, etc.) or can be done on their own.

Circle K is a co-educational service, leadership development, and friendship organization, organized and sponsored by a Kiwanis club on a college or university campus. It is a self-governing organization and elects its own officers, conducts its own meetings, determines its own service activities, and establishes its own dues structure. Its Objects include the Objects of Kiwanis.

Once organized, a Circle K club continues to be sponsored by a Kiwanis club. Although the ultimate responsibility for Circle is that of the Kiwanis Board of Directors, the sponsorship function is most directly carried out by the Kiwanis club Committee on Circle K Clubs, assisted by a faculty advisor (who may or may not be a Kiwanian) designated by the college or university administration.

District and International Conventions are held each year. At the International Convention, International officers are elected, the Constitution and Bylaws are amended, and Circle K members participate in a service project.

College Mentors for Kids-IUPUI is an innovative non-profit that pairs at-risk, first- through fourth- graders with a college student mentor on a college campus for weekly activities focused on higher education and career, culture and diversity and community service. College Mentors for Kids serves 700 children from 27 elementary schools at 20 university based chapters with 700 mentors and 150 college student leaders.

The mission of College Mentors for Kids is to motivate at-risk children and communities to achieve their potential by fostering inspiration to transform lives, education to change attitudes, and connections to increase opportunities.

The IUPUI Chapter serves 25 children with 30 college student volunteers and has activities on Mondays and Tuesdays from 4:00 – 6:00 during the academic year.
