IUPUI America Reads*America Counts
IUPUI America Reads*America Counts invites you to apply to earn $9.00 per hour in a rewarding program. Here at IUPUI, undergraduate and graduate students can use their Federal Work-Study award to tutor children and youth (Grades K-9)in local public schools and community centers. Students may choose to tutor in literacy or math (or both!).
Students from all majors are encouraged to apply! You will receive an orientation and paid monthly trainings to help prepare you as a tutor.
To participate in the IUPUI AR*AC programs, students must meet the following requirements:
1. Qualify for Federal Work-Study (if you are not sure if you qualify, check your Financial Aid award summary on Onestart or visit the Office of Financial Aid to get more information).
2. Be able to work a minimum of 8 hours per week at least 2 days per week. Hours are available during the school day (between 8:00-3:00 pm) as well as after school (between 3:00-6:00 pm).
3. Be able to attend monthly professional development trainings (on-campus) that occur the first Friday of each month from 10-12 and 1-3. You are able to choose the time that serves you best.
4. Have access to your own, reliable transportation to and from your site.
