What: The IUPUI Research Academy is an interactive summer workshop to develop skills, learn about methods and literature, develop a research project and advance research related to service learning in higher education
Sponsored by: IUPUI Center for Service and Learning and National Service Learning Clearinghouse
Targeted Audience: Service learning researchers; well-suited for faculty developing research projects, as well as graduate students
Dates: Begin at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday May 14th, end at noon on Saturday May 16th, 2009
Location: University Library at Indiana University - Purdue University Indianapolis. Located near downtown Indianapolis, IN

Costs: $80.00; in addition each attendee will cover their own cost of travel, food, and accommodations
Application: Applications can be found at http://surveycentral.uc.iupui.edu/ira09.aspx and are due by March 27, 2009. All applications will be reviewed by the Conference Committee, and those that are accepted will be notified by April 3, 2009. Charges for attending will be assessed after one has received notification of application acceptance.
Airline Reservations:
The Indianapolis International Airport (IND) is the preferred airport for air travel to Indianapolis, Indiana. Reservations can be made via their website at http://www.indianapolisairport.com/index.aspx
Travel from Airport to IUPUI:
Carey Indiana is a convenient option for the IUPUI Research Academy attendees, and offers a comfortable shuttle service from the IND Airport to Downtown. They can be contacted toll free at: 1-800-888-INDY(4639), at the Transportation Center at the airport on the day of arrival, or through their website at: http://www.careyindiana.com/. Attendees may request Carey’s Share-A-Ride service, which costs $11.00 per person. In addition, the IndyGo Green Line bus service travels from the Indianapolis International Airport to the heart of Downtown Indianapolis. Fare cost is $7.00 person, and reservations can be made in advance by calling 317-635.3344, or online at www.IndyGo.net.
Hotel Accommodations:
The IUPUI Center for Service and Learning currently has a block of rooms reserved at the IUPUI University Place Hotel and Conference Center for attendees to the IUPUI Research Academy. Reservations can be made via their website at https://reserve.universityplace.iupui.edu/webbook/default.htm, or by phone at 1-800-627-2700. Our block is reserved under the name “Center for Service and Learning,” and the cut-off date for block rates is April 12, 2009. Attendees are responsible for their own accommodations.
