SAM H. JONES
This service scholarship has been named after Sam H. Jones to honor his memory and deeds as a dedicated public servant and Chief Executive Officer of the Indianapolis Urban League for 36 years. Sam Jones built bridges between races and genders, advocated for social change to assure equal access to education, housing, healthcare, and contributed to improving the quality of life for many people in Central Indiana.
The Community Service Scholarship Program was established to recognize students who have made exemplary service contributions to the community and/or their high school or the campus, and to foster their leadership and continued service contributions to the community during the year.

All applications are due March 1st at 5:00pm*
*except Alternative Spring Break Team Leaders, which are due April 1st at 5:00pm

Alternative Spring Break Team Leader

• Application Deadline: April 1st at 5:00pm
• Applicants must have been attended a past Alternative Break through the Office of Community Service.

America Reads*America Counts Team Leaders

• Previous participation as an America Reads*America Counts coach in good standing is required.

Community Partner Scholars

• For continuing undergraduate and graduate students; previous participation in Fugate Scholar, Community Service Scholar, or Community Service Leaders preferred but not required.

Community Service Leaders

• Previous participation in Community Service Scholar or Community Service Leaders in good standing is required

Community Service Scholars

• For continuing IUPUI students

Democracy Plaza Civic Engagement Leaders

• For continuing undergraduate and graduate students     

Freshman Service Scholars

• For incoming students
• Applications are available through the Scholarship Office

Fugate Scholars

• For continuing undergraduate and graduate students       

ServiceCorps

Service Learning Assistant Scholars

• Application must be submitted by an IUPUI faculty member or affiliate
