As part of the Sam H. Jones Community Service Scholarship Program, Service Learning Assistant (SLA) Scholarships are available to recognize IUPUI students who have been selected by faculty or professional staff to assist in implementing a service learning class, conducting research, or completing a service project in and with the community. Faculty and staff teaching serving learning courses, implementing department-based service learning programs or conducting research related to service learning and civic engagement are invited to apply for an SLA. Upon approval, instructors identify a student to become an SLA and to whom the scholarship is awarded. Please note that awards are granted to support faculty work. Applications to support independent student research projects will not be supported.
