César Chávez Day of Service

Honor. Serve. Remember. Join IUPUI students and members of the Indianapolis community as they recognize César Chávez, a Mexican American farm worker, labor leader, and civil rights activist.

César Chávez is considered a hero for farm laborers and is hailed as one of the greatest American civil rights leaders. To honor César Chávez’s life and work, the Community Service Scholars of the Sam H. Jones Community Service Scholarship Program organize the annual César Chávez Day of Service. This service event includes a brief morning program to recognize the work of César Chávez followed by service in our community.
