Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation Invasive Species Removal Volunteer

Address:
1427 E 116th St. Carmel, Indiana 46032 United States
Description:
Come join us and be part of the first line of defense in removing invasive plant species from our parks. Depending on the season you will have a chance to pull, cut, bag, and remove a variety of invasive species from our parks. Whether helping pull invasive garlic mustard on your nightly walk, or utilizing a beautiful weekend to get outside and help cut back invasive honeysuckle - there is always something you can do to make a difference while learning about the health of our local ecosystems. This is an ongoing program and can take place at the park of the volunteer's choice, which can be discussed with the Volunteer Coordinator (volunteer@carmelclayparks.com). Volunteers participating in this program will be responsible for hand-pulling or trimming (depends on species) invasive species in the Carmel Clay Parks system. We work very closely with Hamilton Co. SWCD and Hamilton Co. CISMA and you will get an opportunity to learn from community leaders in conservation and habitat management.
