- Description:
- With several corps located throughout Indianapolis, The Salvation Army is an international organization which offers a variety of services to provide safety and resources for those in need. From food pantries to domestic abuse counseling to after school youth programming, The Salvation Army strives to spread God's love by meeting human needs without discrimination. We host several large events throughout the year, such as our Radiothon and Angel Tree programs. We also have day-to-day operations at our many corp units throughout the Indianapolis area where we provide necessary resources to those in need in our community. Volunteers can get involved in a variety of ways, depending on location and area of interest. One can help with painting and maintenance at our Women and Children's Center, tutor and offer homework help after school at Eagle Creek, or plan an event with the seniors at Booth Manor! Creatively inclined students are also invited to teach a one-hour creative class at the Fountain Square corp in our Makers Space, or get creative in the kitchen by cooking for our Tuesday youth nights! Most of our corps operate under normal business hours, 8AM-5PM Monday-Friday. Youth nights at Eagle Creek and Fountain Square corps are offered on Tuesday evenings. Some of our holiday events occur on the weekends or in the evenings.
