Description:
Circles is a national relationship-based initiative (www.circlesusa.org). The Indianapolis Chapter of Circles (www.circlesindy.org) meets weekly at Tabernacle Presbyterian Church on Thursday evenings from 6 to 8 p.m. The Circles Community Team is responsible for the planning, preparation, and successful execution of Circles Weekly Meetings and special events that are effective at building community and helping people with skills and plans for getting out of poverty. The following are key functions of Community Team volunteers at the weekly meetings on Thursday nights (6–8 p.m.): Hospitality—Welcomes and provides exceptional service to Circles community members and guests as they arrive; Conducts on-site registration and provides sign-in sheets and/or attendance reports to the team leadership, as needed; Set up/break down (and clean-up) of meeting space—Assists with setting up and/or breaking down and cleaning up of dinner space, sign-in tables, food/drink serving tables, sitting tables and chairs; Set up and break down classrooms, meeting/event spaces, etc. in an accurate, safe, and timely manner; Meals—Oversees the preparation, service, and clean-up of meals; Creates an enjoyable dining experience by serving Circles community members and guests promptly, courteously, and in an orderly manner; Communicates and coordinates with the Meals Coordinator and Kitchen Staff as needed; Adult Programming—Assists with setting up audio/visual equipment, tables and chairs, banners, and other logistics for break out groups, etc.; Participates in group discussions, Children’s Program and/or Childcare—Assist with the planning and implementation of the Circles USA children’s programming and activities; Maintain an environment that is clean, safe, and promotes children’s development at all levels; Build relationships with children and their families through dinner and interaction each week at the Circles Weekly Meeting; Arrange classroom environment to meet program goals; Assist with the routine cleaning in the classroom; Must consent to and pass background check.
