Brooke's Place for Grieving Young People Support Group Facilitator

Address:
8935 Indianapolis, Indiana 46260 United States
Description:
Our grief support groups happen twice per month in the evenings. Once trained as a facilitator, we ask for a year commitment for volunteers. Our hope is that families walk away feeling supported, cared for, and that they've been given a safe space to grieve, right where they are. Facilitators provide a safe and supportive environment for children, ages 3-20+ years old, and adults to grieve the way they need to grieve. Facilitators listen to and validate the feelings, thoughts, and words that are shared during the support groups and let the participants lead you through their grief journey. NO COUNSELING background is required! Facilitators will be expected to be able to keep up physically with young children and to maintain a safe environment for the grief support groups. In order for you to become a facilitator for Brooke’s Place, we require our volunteers to complete our training workshop that is offered four times a year. Previous bereavement experience is not required, just a love for children and the willingness to make a commitment to the program.
