GiGi's Playhouse Down Syndrome Achievement Center Literacy Tutor

Description:: GiGi's Playhouse Down Syndrome Achievement Center's mission is to change the way the world views Down syndrome through national campaigns, educational programs, and by empowering individuals with Down syndrome, their families and the community. Volunteers are needed to help those with Down syndrome learn to read! The time commitment per week is 1 hour plus prep time. They ask literacy tutors to commit to one session (10 weeks). You will work directly with the family of the child you are tutoring to determine when you will meet for your session each week. Volunteer Orientations take place on the first Tuesday of every month from 6-7 pm. All volunteers will need to complete the virtual volunteer orientation prior to volunteering.
