- *Minimum commitment of 1 weekday a month.* Volunteers go through a 3-part training process to learn how to pick-up meals at one of our 9 hospital & healthcare facilities that prepare medically-tailored meals and deliver the meals to our homebound, senior and chronically-ill clients all over Marion County. Volunteers for this opportunity commit to one weekday a month to deliver meals on their route between 11am to 2pm. Part of the service that we provide our clients, is for volunteers to alert us if a client does not answer their door or phone - when delivering meals. This is all part of our "Wellness Check." Volunteer Orientations are provided monthly at the Meals on Wheels of Central Indiana office located in the Lockerbie Neighborhood of Downtown Indianapolis. Minimum commitment of once a month, but can be more depending on availability on route (area of Indianapolis) and your schedule. We deliver meals Monday-Friday between 11am to 2pm.
