Communities of Practice

Faculty learning communities

A faculty learning community (FLC) provides a space for faculty members to collaborate in a professional environment to work toward a common goal through collective responsibility, accountability, and progress. With collaboration and partnerships, FLCs engage members in scholarly teaching, shared learning, and reflection to further integrate community-engaged pedagogy in their learning initiatives.

The Center for Service and Learning has offered past communities of practice to support faculty and staff promoting service learning and civic engagement throughout the IUPUI campus. Learn more about our current and past communities of practice below.

The Integrating Community-Engaged Learning through Ethical Reflection (ICELER) faculty learning community is part of a five-year grant (2018–2023) funded by the National Science Foundation led by researchers in the STEM Innovation Education Research Institute, the Center for Service and Learning, and Purdue University's School of Engineering Education.
