Service learning modules with resources to support you
We are excited to offer an online faculty development Canvas course site called Service Learning: the Basics. As a part this Canvas site, you will engage in learning modules that include downloadable resources to support you in understanding the fundamentals of service learning pedagogy, including learning outcomes, critical reflection, community project planning, assessing outcomes and learning, and developing community partners as co-designers and co-educators with your course. These are meant to be completed individually and at your own pace.
While these modules and resources are created as introductions to the concepts of service learning as pedagogy and practice, faculty with some service learning experience may find this back to basics approach as a good refresher on key elements to include in upcoming course design and implementation.
For anyone who is going through these modules, know that you also have access to in-person support as well. Morgan Studer is the director of faculty and community resources in the Center for Service and Learning and is available for consultation to supplement the learning in these modules. You may reach out at anytime to schedule a consultation via our consultation request form.
If you have questions or are not seeing a topic you had hoped would be covered in this series, please contact Morgan Studer.
To receive an invitation to the course site (which will offer more details on what to expect), please complete the enrollment form linked below.
